I never went to my prom. I passionately hated my school.

I had a good time in middle school (junior high). I expected the string to continue in high school. Well, that didn't happen. The school lost my credits in my freshman year, and by sheer luck, I was able to pass by the skin of my teeth. I had an ******* that made the mistake of trying to bully me my first year. I finally had enough, and literally beat him so bad, they called an ambulance for him. I got suspended for a week for that. I got on the football team, everybody there was cool, until I injured my knee. After I wasn't playing anymore, I couldn't get the time of day. My father was constantly harping because I was at practice, and he had to cut the lawn once in a while. It was cutting into his nap time.  There were so many snobs in school. I never dated any girl from my school. I met a boatload of girls from other schools. I wanted to take elective classes, but I couldn't get my father to sign off on them, because he believed manufacturing was the future of America. no I was so bored with classes because I could read the material, and I had it. I would be sitting, waiting for the other students to finally get it, that I wasn't interested in what was being taught, I was already set to move on. I refused to do homework, because my opinion was: "I already gave you *******s six hours of my life. When I go home, I'm rid of you #u<^>$. You're not coming home with me." Admittedly, I loved history and English, so I excelled at those two classes. When I came home, my father was going through some changes, and I became his whipping post. He would come home and just start screaming. After my mom passed away, he went into one of his rages, and he stomped his foot through one of my favorite guitars, breaking the neck on it. Then he tried to get physical. I finally decided I had enough, I slammed him through a wall!! He never got physical again. In fact, he calmed right down and never went off again. In short, I hated the school, most of the students, most of the teachers. And I do mean hate. There were exceptions. I had a few teachers I liked. And a few students I liked. But not too many. I used to play the system against it'self. I cut classes. I would get a detention. Blow that off. Then get suspended for a day. So I would get a day off, where I would be left at home alone. When I walked out of that God forsaken place, I never looked back. The following year, I went out and got my GED, and was so happy. I aced that test.

As a side note: I was at the Kmart, a couple of years later, and there was a woman in line in front of me. She was paying with her stuff with a check. She mentions to the clerk "I put my maiden name Cheryl ******  on the check, because I'm recently divorced" I looked at her like she was an alien (I had already figured out who she was) and I asked "You're Cheryl *****? What happened to you?" She turned and stalked out of the building, leaving her stuff behind.devilish.gif  To this day, she is/was the biggest snob I've ever met.

During high school, was such a horrible time of my life. I couldn't find peace. In school, or at home. I used to come home and just lock myself in my room, or a part time jobs after school. During school, my father bought my brother a pickup truck. When my brother wrecked and totaled the truck, my dad went out and bought him a chevy malibu, and a high powered engine for it. I scraped up my own money and bought my own car. My dad frequently took the rotor out of the distributor cap, so the car wouldn't start!!! He never did that to my brother.

Today, he claims he made some mistakes. Really? Ya think?

What's ironic to me is: I love college. I don't know if it was my attitude or having goals, or that all the students were on equal footing. But I thrived in college. These days, I rarely talk to my father. It's cordial enough, but if I don't talk to him, I don't miss it. My brother and sisters all feel the same. Two of my sisters haven't spoken to him in years. High school taught me one thing, it was how to be independent.

I felt sorry for your dad for being married to your stepmom, but maybe he deserves it.

That's how my mom and stepdad are.  My mom was always the "difficult" one in the family, and she married someone even more difficult (though less crazy).  Now she's miserable because of how mean he is.  But if he was less mean, then her meaness would be dominant and he would be the miserable one.

He's miserable anyway because of her craziness and drinking...which she now blames on his meanness...even though she already drank and acted crazy before she married him.

But they both claim that they're happy with the marriage, so whatever.  They're both kind of snobbish, and hate everybody, so they have that to share.

I have a friend of mine who's parents did nothing but bicker. They never talked to each other. They talked at each other. When the wife died of ovarian cancer, he seemed to die inside. He just sits at home, waiting to join her. I guess you never know.

When I was small I had my 'Mr Wilson', about as close to him as I was to my own grandparents.  Bill and Lucy never talked, they yelled.  They were very special people, both just wonderful.  But the only way they seemed to communicate was yelling at each other.  Lucy only made it a month or so after Bill passed...  Remember Grandpa and Grandma Walton?  Yup...

Yeah, I see what you guys mean.

I do think my stepdad would not last long if my mom died first.  My mom is kind of on a different level though.  Sometimes I wonder if she has the capacity to have normal human emotions.

Everyone is different. I wonder how much emotions or lack there of have to do with promiscuity. Can a person be in love with someone and still cheat on them?

 Hmmm...very interesting question.

Personally, I have cheated twice on someone I really loved (Walter's father), due to ulterior motives. I felt like he didn't really care, and cheating was basically my way of trying to get his attention.  The first time it worked, and our relationship improved tremendously.  The second time (with the same cheating partner) wasn't the same.  We still stayed together, but it didn't strengthen the relationship like it had before.  At that point I think he was just disappointed in me, which is understandable, because I acted like an idiot.

What about you?  Did you ever cheat on anyone?  I'm guessing the answer is no.

All the way? No. Buuuuuttttt...... When I was eighteen, I had a girlfriend I was getting bored with. I was out with a friend when I met this very pretty brunette. We spent the whole fourth of July together, and had an awesome time. I broke up with my girlfriend right after. I felt that if I had to cheat, I wasn't into her enough to stick with it.

Yeah, that sounds like what I would expect you to do.

Have you ever been cheated on?

More times than I can even remember. But I wasn't surprised when it happened. I can always tell.
